Now they are calling for a big snow storm on Monday and Tuesday. Will it ever end. LOL I wish i could afford to be a snowbird and move to florida in the winter.

Still working on this room. I always get side tracked.

Going to bingo tonight with my brother in law and sister in law and hubby..It doesn't start till 10 pm and is over around 2 in the morning. I sure hope i can stay awake.. ROFL.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy whatever you have planned.

Day light Savings Time

Well it won't be long this its time to change the clocks..Yippppeeeee March 8th. And spring is not far behind that. Looked up to see some of the history behind changing the clocks.
History of Daylight Time in the U.S.

Although standard time in time zones was instituted in the U.S. and Canada by the railroads in 1883, it was not established in U.S. law until the Act of March 19, 1918, sometimes called the Standard Time Act. The act also established daylight saving time, a contentious idea then. Daylight saving time was repealed in 1919, but standard time in time zones remained in law. Daylight time became a local matter. It was re-established nationally early in World War II, and was continuously observed from 9 February 1942 to 30 September 1945. After the war its use varied among states and localities. The Uniform Time Act of 1966 provided standardization in the dates of beginning and end of daylight time in the U.S. but allowed for local exemptions from its observance. The act provided that daylight time begin on the last Sunday in April and end on the last Sunday in October, with the changeover to occur at 2 a.m. local time.
During the "energy crisis" years, Congress enacted earlier starting dates for daylight time. In 1974, daylight time began on 6 January and in 1975 it began on 23 February. After those two years the starting date reverted back to the last Sunday in April. In 1986, a law was passed that shifted the starting date of daylight time to the first Sunday in April, beginning in 1987. The ending date of daylight time was not subject to such changes, and remained the last Sunday in October. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 changed both the starting and ending dates. Beginning in 2007, daylight time starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.
Starting in 2007, daylight time begins in the United States on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. On the second Sunday in March, clocks are set ahead one hour at 2:00 a.m. local standard time, which becomes 3:00 a.m. local daylight time. On the first Sunday in November, clocks are set back one hour at 2:00 a.m. local daylight time, which becomes 1:00 a.m. local standard time. These dates were established by Congress in the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Pub. L. no. 109-58, 119 Stat 594 (2005).
Not all places in the U.S. observe daylight time. In particular, Hawaii and most of Arizona do not use it. Indiana adopted its use beginning in 2006.
In 2006, daylight time begins on April 2 and ends on October 29.
In 2007, daylight time begins on March 11 and ends on November 4. [New law goes into effect.]
In 2008, daylight time begins on March 9 and ends on November 2.
In 2009, daylight time begins on March 8 and ends on November 1. In 2010, daylight time begins on and ends on .
-->
Many other countries observe some form of "summer time", but they do not necessarily change their clocks on the same dates as the U.S.
Daylight time and time zones in the U.S. are defined in the U.S. Code, Title 15, Chapter 6, Subchapter IX - Standard Time.
So before we know it, it will be here.

Why is it so hard to get Organized

Why is it hard to get and stay organized. You can't see the floor of my craft room again. LOL I just want to be able to sew and keep it straightened.
How do you organize you material??? By color or type....I can use some help..
I think it's because i get these idea's to try this and that and then it never gets done and then there is more stuff to find places to put it. Oh my, what a mess.
I would really like to be able to learn to quilt. I bought books and there they sit. I look at them but that's about it. I want to be able to make my grand kids a quilt to remember me by. Something they can snuggle up to and think of me.
So what are your organization skills. Would love to here about them.
Going to start cleaning up this room again. Maybe get rid of things i don't use. Well the snow is still on the ground and its 26 degrees out. We are supposed to get a heat wave the end of the week. In the 40's can't wait.
Well have a wonderful day

Just listed my hearts and gingerbread men on Ebay

Well i finally got them listed. Now what can i start making. Let me think. With all the patterns that i have bought over the years there should be something there. Nothing much happened today. Just hanging out and picking up things here and there.

I see where Circut City went bankrupt. Things are really getting bad. I sure hope that with the new President our economy can get turned around. Gas has started to go up a little. Not much though. Better than what it was a year ago. Our gas here is $1.67 a gallon.

Enjoy the evening and stay safe and warm.

Winter is here

The phone kept ringing this morning. And when the answering machine picked it up, no one talked. So after about 3 times, i got up and answered it. It was a recording from the school system saying that the schools were closed today. I don't have any kids at home so don't know why they called me. So i couldn't go back to sleep so i just stayed up. Decided to look out the window and there was snow!!!! Didn't even know they were calling for any. And the wind is blowing and it's sooooooooo cold out. A good day to stay inside and craft. Hubby and i were going to get hair cuts today. Guess that will happen another day.

I've decided that i will have a blog give a way when i hit 100 posts. I will have to figure out what to give. And how i want to do it. I just love entering them.

Well they say it's even cold in Florida so hope everyone stays warm and safe. Spring is coming...Just not fast enough.

Have a wonderful day.

My blogger works!!!!

Well i found out what was wrong. I had downloaded a new version of Internet explorer. IE 8. I un-installed it and now my blogger works. But when i look at my followers the pictures arent' there. Oh well. Hopefully that will fix itself. But now i can read the blogs of the people i follow.

Oh, My hubby had his stress test done today and the doctor said it looks good. The stent they put in a year ago is still working good. And years ago he had a silent heart attack from a clogged attery. And that looked good and that his heart did it's own bypass on that part of its heart. He said that was good, to.

So far this has been a good year and i hope it keeps going good.

Have a wonderful day!!!!

Proud Grandma

My daughter text me today to tell me that my grandson, who is 8, had is IQ tested in school. She said he scored higher than 125 on his IQ test. So they have to meet with the school to have him put in the gifted program. She said that of all the children that was tested only 3 of them made it. So i'm on cloud nine. So very proud of him.

Just wanted to share....

Hi all

Well it's finally a new year. And maybe this year will be better. Has anyone made any new years resolutions?? I know how that goes. Every year the same ole thing. I know i can do it and then the time comes. Wow, a different story now. LOL Oh well I'm sure gonna try.

I want to loose some weight. I found a belt that I used to wear when i first moved into this house 11 years ago. I can't believe i wore that. I watched my 8 year old grandson on New Years eve and he seen the belt. He said grandma you used to be skinny!!!!! That hit hard. I know i would feel so much better if i could loose this extra weight.

I'd like to get some new recipes also. Something that's healthy and tastes good. So if anyone has any they would like to share. Please post them in the comments section of this post. I'd love to see them. And other's would probably like sharing them to. I need to loose some weight and eat healthier.

I have been working on more crafts..I would love that to be one of my resolutions. To buckle down and craft. I start something and then get into doing something else. It's like i can't keep my mind on one thing. I think about things i'd like to make and out the door that idea goes. LOL
Oh well i'm really gonna try.

Hope everyone had a very good New year.
