Hi blog buddies...

I've been making alot of rag quilts and it's been taking up alot of my time. I was supposed to go to a quilt class but hubby got sick and ended up in the hospital so i missed it. Waiting for them to give more so that i can learn to make a regular quilt. Other than that things have been going good. I need to get on here and work on getting this blog back in order. Also need to read others blogs. Sure have missed everyone. Having a cookout this sunday for Memorial day. Getting things ready for that now. Lots of cleaning to do to. Good Saturday Morning

It's been some time since i've been on here. First off i got a little hooked on Facebook...LOL And also been making some rag quilts. They are fun to make..Went to the local fabric shop.. She does sewing and also sells quilt fabric. Closes to a real quilt shop we have around here. And I love going in there. I could bring all the fabric home with me...LOL The last time I was in there she had a sign up for quilting classes. So i asked about it and she said the lady that does them come in on Monday Wed. and fridays from 9 til 12 but that is the days that hubby has dialysis and he takes the car and the classes are $20 each and you can take as many as you want. So she is supposed to see if the lady would come in another day for me. I'd love to do it. Have to run down there today to get a llittle more fabric because i just didn't figure out the right amount for this rag quilt i'm working on. I did find a thing on the net that says how to figure rag quilt yardage but i always come up short. Do you think those quilt calculators would work on rag quilts to.

We have been getting alot of snow latley to and they are calling for more next week. I am so ready for spring. Well better get off here for now. The grocery store is another thing i have to do today. YUCK...

Round 2

Well its here again, more snow. It started around 11 this morning and supposed to snow til tomorrow sometime. They are calling for another 14 inches. It's really getting old now. I'm ready to head south. Might be cold there but no snow. Spring is right around the corner and i can't wait.

I've been sewing made another rag quilt. Will have to post the picture later. It's on my other computer.

Good Thursday Morning

Good morning all.. Up early this morning. Hubbys breathing is just terrible. The snoring and then like he's trying to get his breath. Haven't slept much lately. He had the sleep apnea test sunday night with the mask. They said he did so much better and he said he felt better. Now the waiting game again. They said it takes 12 to 14 days to hear back from them. Everybody and there brother has to read the test results. LOL. I asked her if she could put a rush on it. she said she would. Can't wait to get a good night sleep. Between him and our dog snoring..Oh my..........I've been working on another rag quilt. Have to wash it today to rag it. Takes so long to clip. Eventually i will grow up and try the regular quilt. I've been trying to clean up my sewing room to and trying to pick up after myself in there. Now thats a hard one. Wish i had someone that would come in there and do that for me. LOL

Well they are calling for a big one this weekend. Just had more snow yesterday now they say this will be the big one starting friday afternoon. Gonna go to the store today and you know everyone will be there. Always happens when they call for snow.

What happened to my sewing room

Wow seems like not long ago it was all cleaned up and now it's so much of a mess i didn't even want to go in there. But today i'm in there cleaning and throwing out. I think after i go to sleep at night someone or thing goes in there and trashes the place. LOL

Hubby had his test for sleep apnea. He said it was hard to sleep there all hooked up. We did call yesterday to see if they knew anything and they did say that he has very severe sleep apnea. He goes back on the 31st and this time he has to wear a mask. They said he will feel better wearing it. They said he won't be so tired. And it's bad for your heart, which he don't need that, his heart is already not that great.,

Well just thought i'd take a breather, now i guess i'd better head back in there. Nothing is getting done with me talking away. LOL

Sleep Study

Morning all

Hubby had a sleep apnea study done last night. He had to be there at 9 pm and got home this morning a little before 6. So guess what time i got up. LOL Heard him come in. He said he had a hard time sleeping there with all the wires stuck to his head.

So when he got home and i got up we made coffee and sit down to watch the news and they said that Haiti just had another after shock. It's so sad what those people are going through and those poor children there that are going to be without there parents. Makes you give thanks to where we live.

Hope you have a wonderful day. Hubby has dialysis at 11;30 today so maybe a nap for me. LOL

Kids say the funniest things

The other night my daughter and granddaughter came over. My granddaughter is only 5 and in pre-k...She was telling me about school. Showing me how she learned all her days of the week and months in the year with dance. And how doing math they use the point system. They put points on the numbers and that's how they add. Didn't make much since to me. LOL Then i asked her if she says the Pledge of Allegiance in school and she said yes. She put her hand over her heart and began saying it. This is the first part of it. "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the united steaks of America". I just lost it. She said Steaks instead of States. I told her it was States and she stated saying it again and said steaks. I just gave up. LOL. Then we sat down and colored. I love having her around. i don't get to see her much. Hopefully this summer i can get her to stay more.

I know that i'm getting older and the thought of not being around is a daily thought that i need to get out of my head. So after being with her i'm thinking so much better. I'm going to live each day as it comes and enjoy my family and friends and blog friends more. Do more things that i enjoy. Because none of us know when the last day will be and i want to make the most of mine. And i really need to change this music on here. LOL

So i would like to thank everyone for taking a little time out of your day to stop by.

todays my birthday

Well another year has passed. wow I'm 53 today. As i have been getting older I think more and more about how i'm really not ready to pass on. My mom passed when she was 56 and my dad when he was 59. So I think alot about that now that i'm in my 50's. My grandparents were in there 90's. My health isn't the greatest. I have COPD and have my good days and my bad days. More bad as the years go by. I guess as they say God has already planned out when it will be our time and you should live each day one day at a time. I do try that. I know there are people out there worse off than me an i should be very Thankful for what i have. And I am. I heard a song the other day called My Temporary home and i guess that is what live on this earth is. sorry to be on such a sad note. As the day goes on it will get better, i know. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. It's supposed to be in the 20's today. I just wish my life away, wishing for spring. LOL I can't take the cold.

Another year has passed

Another year has gone. Where did it go. Time seems to be flying by. And January will be over before we know it. The weather has been very cold this year and more snow than we have gotten for years. Crazy weather. I'm so ready for spring.

Now i want to do some spring cleaning. I'm tired of being closed in so thought i'd workin on getting things cleaned up and cleared out so that when it starts to warm up i can get outside.

I sure hope everyone had a wonderful New Year..Hubby and I stayed up and watched the ball drop and then off to bed. Getting old. LOL We watched Dick Clark's rockin eve. It's so nice to see that he is still able to do it. I think he really enjoys it.

Enjoy this week, mine is going to be very cold.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Just wanted to show the quilts that I made for my 2 daughters and daughter in law for Christmas. The pictures didn't turn out to good though. Sometimes this camera has a mind of its own.

My oldest daughter is a Pittsburgh steelers fan so i made this one for her

This is my youngest daughters rag quilt. It has butterflys on it.

And this is the quilt that i made for my DIL. It's homespun and the picture looks lighter than it is.

They are all rag quilts. I really enjoy making these.

I know how busy it will be for all of us the next few days. So i would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas. Our snow is still around and it's not looking to pretty now. And now they are calling for ice on Christmas morning. I'm going to my sons house for dinner around 1. and all the kids will be there, I hope they can make it.

What a day

Well got up really early this morning and went in and started working on my last Christmas gift. Working a little and was getting a little chillie so went in and checked the thermostat and it said 66. So i turned up the heat and it still felt cold. Went over and put my hand by the grate and cold air. The furnace wasn't working. Lovely. Just had the new furnace put in 2 years ago. Called them and they said they would be out between 12 and 5. Getting colder in here. Finally he showed up around 2:30. He's been here an hour and its still not fixed. Hopefully soon.

Enjoy your day. I know i will when it gets warmer in here.

Well Christmas things are 70% off and the Valentine stuff is coming out. LOL already.. Hubby was with me and he said it's not even February yet. I told him you can't wait until February to get valentine decorations...LOL The snow is in VA now. Coming my way. The stores are crazy tonight.

Here comes the snow

Well they are calling for a snow storm this weekend and possibly a white Christmas. We havent had a white Christmas for years and years. A little snow over Christmas will be fine but not ready for anymore.

I'm still working on my Christmas presents. After Christmas i will post a pic of them. Just lots to do right now.

Here's my finished baby rag quilt

Went to the baby shower on Sunday and my niece had a wonderful time. Here is the quilt i made for her. My first rag quilt was a bear from a pattern. This is my second rag quilt and this one was made from squares.

The top pictures are the front. And the bottom 2 pictures are the back. I embroidered the last square.

My niece really loved it. Alot of clipping and my hand hurt so bad. They are 3" squares so it took alot of them to make it. I have been so busy lately working on Christmas gifts.

It's Snowing

It's snowing...Been doing it since early this morning. The roads are to warm so its not laying on them but it is in the grass. Suppose to do it all day...Well i don't have to go anywhere today so that ok. LOL Not much of a snow and winter person.

I was up til 2 this morning clipping that rag quilt. My hand hurts so bad. I used all flannel so that is 3 layers of it. And i should of made it with bigger squares. I used 4" squares so that's alot of clipping. It's in the washer for the second time, then into the dryer again. I'll get a pic of it sometime today and post it. I have been working on it all week. The baby shower is tomorrow.

Back to cleaning and washing clothes. Talk later

Hi all

Hope everyone survived the holidays and getting ready for more. I have been busy trying to do a rag quilt for my niece for a baby shower on Sunday. Little harder than i thought, lol....The quilt kit i won from Green Fairy quilts i'm going to work on the first of the year. It's a regular quilt and i've never done them before. So i want to get the holiday over and i will have more time to concentrate on that. Lol Check out her blog she has wonderful quilts at great prices.

What was i thinking!!!!

I don't know what i was thinking but i started working on organizing my craft room, right before Thanksgiving. Like there isn't enough to do to get ready for that. So much stuff in that room Oh my. And too much fabric and no where to put it. And the rooms not that big. I wanted to set up something so that i can do my shipping in there to because i am dragging everything into the dining room to work on that and there it lays...I don't mind getting things out but i don't know what happens to my mind when its time to put it back. Sometimes i wish i could be a genie and make it all nice with just a nod of the head. LOL I am so tired. And don't feel like doing it anymore.

How do you arrange your fabric supply??? And do you do your shipping at the same place???? Hubby when in there a while ago and just shook his head...LOL And it's all in the hall way waiting to go back in that room. Starting to see the floor now. Well guess i'd better get back to work.

Have a question ....Need some help

Good Morning!!!! It's raining here and dreary. Guess it's better than snow. So on with my question. I was thinking of doing some international selling on ebay but not sure where to go to get the best info on it. Questions on how and what i need to fill out and everything else there is to know. LOL

Its like jumping in the ocean for the first time. A lot to learn. I have been working on more things to list and that takes time.

Had to go with hubby to the hospital yesterday morning to have a pic line put in his neck for IV antibiotics to try to get rid of this on going ear infection that he has had for years now. It doesn't hurt but it drains. And he has a hole in his ear drum and they can't fix it until the infection is gone. And with all his past medical problems his veins are shot and they can't get an IV in them. And we had to be there at 6 am. and then dialysis at 12 then back to the hospital for IV antibiotic at 3;30. He has to go to the hospital everyday for 2 weeks to get the medicine. I asked them about Thanksgiving day and she said we are open. And we are having dinner at my house with our family so i had them call the doctor and see about not coming that day and he said that would be fine. I sure hope this works this time. They have tried everything even eye drop antibiotics in his ear. And he can't hear out of his one ear and now this one his hearing is really bad and i can't take the tv up that load much more. LOL So hopefully this works. Need some prayers that it works this time and he can get it fixed. Well guess I'd better stop ramblin and get to work on something.

One more thing. I was working on a crow last night and it was on the table and my BIL stopped by and said you making parrots. And i said no its a crow and he said who would want a crow. I laughed and said that's the prim look.
Oh well

Holiday Recipe Swap

Happy Friday the 13th

Karrie over at stayathomemommy is having a recipe swap. You can still join the swap or just go and check out all the recipes.

Dump Cake

2-21oz. cans of Cherry Pie Filling (or your choice of Pie filling)

1-16oz can crushed pineapple

1 box white cake mix

2-sticks of marg. or butter melted

shredded coconut

chopped nuts or sliced almonds

Pour pie filling into a 9x12 baking dish. Spread pineapple (juice included) evenly on top of pie filling. Do not stir. Sprinkle cake mix on top of the pie filling. Do not stir. Sprinkle melted butter on top of the cake mix. Again do not stir. And lightly sprinkle the coconut. Then lightly cover with nuts. Do not mix. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Very easy and good recipe.

Black Bottoms

1 Cup Cream Cheese softened

1 unbeaten egg

1/3 Cup sugar

1/8 teaspoon salt

1-6oz. bag of mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 teaspoon salt 1 Cup water

1/4 Cup Coca 1/3 Cup Oil

1 teaspoon baking powder 1 Tablespoon Vinegar

1-1/2 Cup flour 1 teaspoon Vanilla

1 Cup Sugar

Combine first 5 ingredients and set aside. Sift together salt, coca, baking soda, flour, sugar. Add water oil and vinegar. Add vanilla. Stir. Fill small muffin tin papers 1/3 full with chocolate batter. Then fill to top with cream cheese mixture.

Bake at 350 for 15 min.

Today is Veterns Day

I want to Thank all the men and women that have served our country. So many have lost there lives so that we could live a better life. And to all the men and women that are still serving my prayers go out to you for a safe return home.

And to all the families that have there children, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers away from them over these upcoming holidays, i'd like to say thank you and bless you. Praying that they all come home safe and soon.

They kept askng him to dress up and he kept saying he was going to come as a patient. LOL And they were so excited when he showed up like this. I even painted his nails black.

Don't forget to change your clocks

Daylight savings time ends this weekend. We get an extra hour of sleep..I sure could use that. But it's already getting dark fast in the evenings..I guess winter is on its way and i'm not ready for that.

Tonight is Trick or Treat night here so hubby and i will be handing out candy. They were calling for rain but i think now its' supposed to be nice. He's dressing up in a costume for dialysis today. I'm going to try to get some pics from there today and try to get them on this weekend. I painted his fingernails black last night.

Well gotta get things together and get ready to run him out to dialysis.

Nicer weather and rice lights

Hi all

The rain is over for a few days and the sun is shinning. I threw some nuts out for the squirrels and the Blue Jays kept taking them. It started out with one blue jay and ended up with 3 of them. The poor squirrels didn't stand a chance.

And not to sound to dumb but what is rice lights. I've heard people say about rice lights but not sure what they are talking about and i know someone out there knows. LOL

ladybugs everywhere

I live in Maryland and we are over run with lady bugs. They are everywhere!!! It's warmer out today but i can't open the windows from all the bugs outside. We have stink bugs, box elders and now lady bugs. It's horrible.

Are there any Dialysis Patients out there

My husband is on dialysis. He's been doing it for almost 2 years now, 3 days a week. He's been having so much problems with cramping lately. His hands mostly and also in his neck. His neck mussels cramp up so bad some times he can hardly breath. He wanted to see if anyone has the same problem with the cramping and what he could do about it. I think he is going to see about getting a kidney transplant. His brother is giving him one of his if it is a match. So now the long journey will start.

We know all about transplants. To begin with he has type 1 diabetes. He's had it since he was 14. In 1997 he had a pancreas transplant and was no longer a diabetic. He loved it. It lasted for 5 years and then he got Cryptoccocal Meningitis from bird droppings. Crazy huh!!! They thought he was going to die. He was in the hospital for almost a year. 4 months at the hospital were we live then 4 months at a hospital in Baltimore MD and then rehab hospital here for almost another 4 months. That was a longggggggggg year.. Well they had to take him off the immunosuppresent medicines or he would of died. His weight went down to 88 pounds. They had to give him some very bad antibiotics that really messed up his kidneys and they went down hill after that .It was horrible. Well after going off the medicines he lost his new pancreas. So he's back to being a diabetic. Before all of this he was taking 4 shots a day of insulin and then went on an insulin pump. Which he has now. And after all that he wants to go through another transplant. It scares me to death but i guess if that's what he wants I'll stand beside him. He's had so many health problems.

Two years ago on Superbowl Sunday he had a pulmonary embolism. A blood clot that went to his lung and his heart stopped 6 times. They had to use the paddles on him each time. He was flown to Washington and our heart doctor here saved his life. He's had a silent heart attach and has to stints in his heart. He's a walking miracle.

Evening Just got this stump doll done and listed it on ebay tonight. If you get a chance take a look...He's a pic of him...Hope i got it on right. My grandson's here for the weekend and he's on the desk top computer looking at U tube and keeps saying look at this and look at that. Kinda hard to concentrate. LOL Oh well...I really want to get some more Christmas things done becasue it will be here before we know it.

They said we might get some snow this weekend. I sure hope not. Then next week in the high 60's wow what crazy weather.

Mornin all

Chillie morning!!! We had some bad winds yesterday. Everyones trash cans flying around. Leaves falling and flying. They say it will get up to 70 today. Cold in the house but i hate turning on the heat yet. So i'll just put on a sweater. LOL

What a beautiful weeked, Scarecrows and cow patty bingo

This weekend was so beautiful. No rain like they first thought. And warmer temps. So Saturday my daughter and granddaughter and grandson spent the weekend. We went to the Harvest Hoedown. Took some pics i thought i would share. This is a picture of them making scarecrows. My daughter is the girl in the red shirt on the left front corner with her daughter in the purple shirt beside her. My grandson is the boy in the middle of the picture with the blonde hair.

From left to right. My granddaughter, grandsons scarecrow, grandson, granddaughters scarecrow, the little scare crow hubby made then my hubby John.

Then they had a purple cow bingo. Yep spray painted cows. You buy a square for 5.00. First prize was $250.00 second prize was $750.00 and third prize was $1000.00. So what it is the first cow to poop in a spot you win the first prize, and so on. We waited for an hour and none of them did anything so we left. But they call you if you win. And i didn't get a call so , well that's my luck.

We had alot of fun . The kids did to.

My grandson is my oldest daughters son.

My daughter and my 2 grandchildren are coming over this weekend to spend the weekend. We are supposed to be going to the Harvest Hoedown but don't know if that will happen. They are calling for rain. The weather sure has changed. Tonight in the low 40's burrrrrrr. I just want 70 all the time. Is that just to much to ask. LOL

Well they say that fall is around 5:18 this evening on the east coast but i guess you can consider it all day..LOL I love the cooler temps. 70's are nice. could be that all year long. This summer hasn't really been a summer. Lots of rain and either to hot or to cold. I remember when i was younger i loved the hot weather. The hotter the better. I remember putting baby oil and iodine mixed together as a sun tan lotion and laying in the hot sun and frying. LOL Well now that i'm older and i know better. I can't take it when it gets really hot but i'm not a winter person either. Here in Maryland we get all 4 seasons. I'd be happy with just spring and fall.. And i love the fall colors. They are so pretty. It's cool out this morning but they are calling for rain for the next 3 days.

So do you like fall or is summer your best season.

Guess i'd better get things done around here. Have some more crafting to do.

A funny story to share

It was a nice day out today so hubby asked if i wanted to go for a scooter ride. I was at the sewing machine sewing and thought i'd take a brake and go. He wanted to stop at the scooter store to see about getting a bigger helment...His head must be getting bigger in his old age. LOL Well we rode there and then i wanted to stop by Michaels craft store and pick up some paint. It was a nice ride. Little chilly riding though. Good thing i put my jacket on. Well when we got home i sat on the couch and i slipped my flip flops off. Hubby looked at my feet then at the floor and looked around. I said what's wrong with you. He said is that what shoes you wore and started laughing. I looked down and i had 2 different flip flops on. OMGoodness...I couldn't believe it. I had a pair of my flip flops on when i went to the sewing machine and took the one off to press on the peddle and another pair was under the sewing machine. I didn't look when i put the other flip flop on..And it was the wrong one. I went out looking like that. I just wonder how many people were looking at my feet and wondering why!!!! So i've learned my lession to always look at my feet before going out of the house...

Happy Sunday the 13th...Today is my Anniversary

And yes i did. I got married on Friday the 13th. Not my idea..It was hubbys. He said lets do it and beat all odds. It was my second marriage. So i though oh well, lets give it a try. If i had it to do over i would of waited til Sat. the 14th..LOL It wasn't bad luck that i married John. It has been bad luck in the health dept. Ever since we got married our heath went down hill for both of us. So many health problems. But after all that we still have each other and are still very much in love. When our anniversary falls on Friday the 13th we are going to get remarried all over again but have it on Sat. the 14th...LOL

What a beautiful Sunday

Today is just beautiful. I finally have the windows open..It's sunny, breezy and in the 70's....It's supposed to be like this all week...I am so done with the hot muggy weather....

My grandson is in Williamsport PA at the Little League World Series games. I've been watching on tv to see if i see him. Only seen him once. He loved the hill that they all slide down on. His mom said that on Saturday he was sliding alot and was a muddy mess but had tons of fun. He's Just watching but hopefully one day will be playing there. He loves to play baseball. He turned 9 on the 13th and plays for a league every summer ever since T-ball....He's in his glory today to be able to be there...He will be tired tomorrow 1st day of school and they won't be getting home til late. That's him pitching. He's a lefty when playing sports but writes with his right hand. I'm so proud of him.

I have been working on some more things to put on ebay. I really need to buckle down and get to work. I start one thing and then start another before the first one is done. Not good. LOL I need to make something for a give away soon too.

Good Sunday morning and back to crafting

Good morning all. Well summer is about over and the fall is coming fast. So I've started crafting again. I love the fall colors but not ready for winter. I'm not a winter person. And living in Maryland we get all 4 seasons. I would love to live somewhere that the temps are in the 70's year round. Is there such a place. I could leave my windows open all the time. Oh well can't have it all.

I've started making some pumpkin ornies and got a set listed on ebay last night. If you have the time check them out. Just look over at the left on the side bar and click on Ebay.

Remember earlier this year i said my Crypte Myrtle looked like it was dying and all those little branches were coming up from the bottom of it, well it's blooming now. I cut all the dead branches off. I sure hope it keeps growing.

Good Morning

Wow it's been almost a month since my last post. Not been up to to much. The weather here has been ok. Alot of hot day and then some cool days. Plenty of rain.

I have had my son's puppy since last friday. My oldest daughter and her hubby and my son and his wifey and my grandson went to Mexico. They are coming back July 3rd in the evening. It's been a long week. Not used to puppies. They sure are alot of work. My doggie is 12 and i'm just worn out. My dog will be glad when he's gone to. She's to old for all that. Can't wait till they get back. They said it has rained alot down there but they are still having fun. Everyone is burnt except for my grandson and he just gets darker and darker. He's learning spanish while there. LOL No one wants to come home and go back to work. Boy do i miss them. My son calls me everyday and since they have been there i have only talked to them 2 times because of the cost of the phone calls. And i got to talk to my grandson once.

After they get back i'm taking a weeks break and then my 5 year old granddaughter is coming to stay for a few days or a week. We will see how that goes. It's aweful getting old. Well gotta get off here and see what's up with the animals. LOL

Gas Prices and Rain

Gas prices and Rain is surely getting old. We have been getting so much rain here lately. I'm ready to ship it somewhere that's not getting any. Any takers.

And the gas prices are creeping up. What's with that.

It's $2.49 and some places higher. Won't be long and it will be over $3.00 again. The economy is still bad and they are taking more money from us in gas.

So how has everyone been. This weekend is supposed to be nice with no rain but it's coming back next week. Everything is growing really good, even the weeds. LOL

Well i need to get working around some. So have a beautiful day.

What to do with my Crept Myrtle

I bought this crept myrtle last summer at Lowes. I planted it and everything was good and this is what it looks like now. It has a tag on it that says Tusarua. The top of it is dead but there are branches coming from the bottom. I don't know if i should cut all the dead branches off. I don't have the receipt for it so they won't take it back. Do you think it is just gone and now way it's coming back.

Good Morning

Looking at another rainy, cloudy day here in Maryland. We had like 4 beautiful hot days in a row and now they are calling for rain and cool temps for a while. But i guess we need it.

I was looking through a cookbook the other day and came across this recipe for Nettle Pie. I didn't know you could eat nettles. I remember when i was younger and found out what they were all about. Not a good thing. I walked into a bush of those with shorts on. My legs started burning and i didn't know what happened. That is about all i remember of those. So here is the recipe for it:

Nettle Pie

1/2 paper grocery bag of young nettles
3 Tablespoons of butter
2 Tablespoons of chopped onions
2 cloves of garlic chopped
2 Tablespoons of flower
1 Cup Milk
Bay leaf
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
2 eggs
2/3 cup flour
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese

Wearing rubber gloves, remove central stem from nettles. Steam until tender, then place in a large greased casserole dish. In a frying pan, melt butter, add onion and garlic and cook until limp. Mix in flour. Add mild and bay leaf and cook. stirring, until thickened. Pour this mixture over the nettles. Spread grated cheese over nettles and sauce. Beat remaining ingredients together for 2 min. and pour over the cheese. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 400 for 20 min. Serves 6

They won there ball game

Turned the heat off last yesterday and had the bedroom window open last night. When i got up this morning it was 64 degrees in here. Had to shut the window and turn the heat on. But later today its suppose to warm up into the 70's so i can turn the heat back off and open the windows.

My grandson's team won there first game last night. They won 7-4. My grandson is 8 and loves ball. But let me tell you it was cold and the wind was blowing. I had sweats and a sweatshirt on and was still cold. Hubby walked up to the concession stand and got us something to eat and when he got back the food was cold. LOL Don;t know how those little kids did it with short sleeves on. Burrrrrr...Guess i'm just getting old.

The weather is a changin

We have been getting alot of rain lately and cooler than normal temps. But the old weather man is callin for some beautiful weather starting on thursday. No rain and warmer temps through next tuesday.

Going to my grandsons baseball game Thursday night. He loves to play ball. He's a lefty when it comes to sports but writes with his right hand. LOL I'm going to have to take the camera with me and get some nice pictures.

I guess spring is coming. Finally. Took my doggie to the groomers yesterday and she had this mole on her neck. When we went to pick her up they said that her collar must of rubbed it off. Her neck was bleeding alittle and the mole was gone. I don't know if they cut it off while shaving her or not. Her hair was getting long and we had it cut really short. It looks pretty good today. Well it's getting late so i guess i'll be signing off here soon. Think i'll do some blog reading and then off to bed.

Sure hope everyone is going to be getting some beautiful weather coming your way.

What do i do with these tulips now

Ok what can i say. The weather is just beautiful...It's finally spring. The sun is shinning and going to get into the 70's today and tomorrow.

Now about the flowers. My daughter gave me the tulip's and the Easter bunny mum for Easter. I want to plant the tulips in my yard but not sure what to do. Can i plant them now or do i wait and save the bulbs and plant them this fall. Not to good with flowers. LOL

I sure hope everyone is have a beautiful spring day!!!!

Have a few questions Need your help again

Ok blog buddies need some help..First just want to tell you that the Sun is shinning here finally. Makes me feel soooooo good.

Does anyone know of any good free zip programs. I need to un-zip some things.

Another thing. I went to Goodwill and got some wood candle stick holders and a big wooden bowl. I want to sand them and re-due them. Well hubby tried using his hand sander and it's not working to good. So maybe you can share some of your secrets of how to do this.

Afternoon all. I've been working on some flag ornies and added them to ebay...Check them out if you get a chance.

It's such a beautiful day out today.. The sun is shinning and a little warmer than the other day. It was so cold with snow flurries. This has been a crazy April so far. Rain coming our way though. I guess that's why they say April Showers bring May Flowers. The tree's are starting to bloom. I guess alot of you with allergies are really hating that right now. I am so blessed not to have to worry with that.

Sunday is Easter. Going to my son's for dinner. So no cooking for me. I just love that. Well have a wonderful day today.

Have a question...Need help

Well it's Friday and raining again. Yuckkkkkkkkk..

My dinning room is paneling. Don't want to put up drywall so thought i could paint over it. I want to add a chair rail. I want to paint the top off white and not sure about the bottom. Does anyone know what i will have to do to paint over the paneling. Has anyone done that. It is just so dark in that room. I love looking at others Prim rooms and would love to make mine like that. So any help would surely be appreciated. Hopefully work on it this summer.

I have been getting the Country Sampler magazine and falling in love with everything in the magazines. So many things that i would love to have. Would love my house to look like that. LOL

It's Almost Scooter Weather

The sun is shinning today and it's supposed to get up to 65. Spring is here today...Well it's almost time to get the scooters out. Hubby and i love riding these. Saves on gas..So thought i'd show some pics. This pic is my grandson and my hubby...Just kidding LOL The scarecrow my grandson and hubby made at the octoberfest here last year. The scarecrow is sitting on my scooter and my grandson on my hubbys scooter.

They are so much fun to ride. You really have to watch others though. They go up to 40mph. These are only 50cc.
There are so many people riding them now. They do have one's that go faster that you can even ride on the highways. We get around 80miles to the gallon.

So come on warm weather. I'm ready to ride. Well hope everyone has a wonderful nice day.

New Pictures of the puppy with the Easter bunny

The Easter bunny was at the mall and tonight was pets night. When we got there only 2 dogs were there getting there picture taken. They sat there so good. I asked the girl if they had been busy and she said it was crazy when they first opened. They said this one person brought in a goat. LOL So here are the pics of the puppy.
